Stock, IRA, Wire Gifts
A gift of appreciated securities that you have held for more than one year can sometimes be the most economical way to give.
You will be eligible to take a federal income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift (for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income) and will not have to recognize the appreciation as capital gain.

Other assets
Gifts to Latin can come in the form of other assets as well. For example, you may wish to consider gifts of closely held stock, real estate, or tangible personal property if its use is related to Latin’s educational mission.

Matching Gifts
If you or your spouse work for a company that matches gifts, you may be able to multiply your impact! You would be recognized for the total amount contributed, your gift plus the match. To find out if your company will match your gift to Latin, please contact your company’s HR department and obtain the appropriate company forms.
